"Historical Review of Cyber Attacks by US Intelligence Agencies" Report Released by CCIA
An Analysis Based on Global Cybersecurity Disclosures
April 11, 2023, the China Cybersecurity Industry Alliance (CCIA) released a report titled "Historical Review of Cyber Attacks by US Intelligence Agencies - An Analysis Based on Global Cybersecurity Disclosures."
Nearly a decade after the Snowden incident, and in the wake of the Prism scandal, state-level cyber attacks have gradually come to light. Prior to this, multiple sources had already revealed that US agencies had used their technological and first-mover advantages to conduct cyber attacks against other countries. In order to systematically present the global cyber attack activities carried out by US intelligence agencies, the CCIA carefully compiled and released the report "Historical Review of Cyber Attacks by US Intelligence Agencies - An Analysis Based on Global Cybersecurity Disclosures" today.
The report is divided into 13 sections based on the timeline and events, mainly including US intelligence agencies' cyber attacks on foreign critical infrastructure, indiscriminate network espionage and monitoring, implantation of backdoors to pollute standards and supply chain sources, development of cyber attack weapons and causing leaks, turning commercial attack platforms into hacker tools due to loss of control, interference and suppression of normal international technology exchange and cooperation, creation of standards and orders that serve US interests, hindrance of global information technology development, and creating division and confrontation in the cyberspace.
